What is GHK-Cu?
GHK is a naturally occurring tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys) first described in human plasma in the 1970s. It binds copper(II) ions with high affinity, and the resulting complex, GHK-Cu, is also known as copper tripeptide-1 and prezatide copper. In laboratory research, GHK-Cu is studied for copper binding and transport, and it is investigated in in vitro models in relation to gene-expression pathways and extracellular matrix components such as collagen and glycosaminoglycans.
